A Crystal Lake man is being held on a $500,000 bond after police found him with drugs during a money laundering and drug trafficking investigation, court records show.
Michael W. Krawczyk, 32, of the 4700 block of East Upton Drive in Crystal Lake, was charged with unlawful possession of LSD with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of LSD, unlawful possession of psilocybin mushrooms, unlawful possession of diazepam, unlawful possession of alprazolam, and unlawful possession of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine.
A criminal complaint filed in McHenry County Circuit Court said Krawczyk was found on October 18 in possession of less than 50 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and 15-200 segregated parts of LSD.
He was also allegedly in possession of an unspecified quantity of Diazepam, Alprazolam, and amphetamine and dextroamphetamine.
A motion filed by Assistant State’s Attorney Hunter Jones said the drugs were found during a search warrant conducted by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
The warrant was the result of an ongoing cannabis trafficking and money laundering investigation.
Law enforcement located the drugs in Krawczyk’s bedroom.
Krawczyk has been identified as a suspect in a money laundering and cannabis trafficking investigation, Jones said in the motion.
Krawczyk is suspected of helping other people launder large amounts of cash within McHenry County and other parts of Illinois, Jones said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Krawczyk on Friday and police took him into custody the same day.
He remains held in the McHenry County Jail on a $500,000, meaning he would need to post $50,000 cash in order to be released.
The most serious charge against Krawczyk is a Class X felony, which carries 6-30 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
A bond hearing and status of preliminary hearing are scheduled for Monday.
