ANNOTATION: NASA’s SpaceX Crew-5 crewmembers arrived Saturday at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Crew-5 flight will carry NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada to the International Space Station. Mann will become the first Native American woman in space. Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata and Russian cosmonaut Anna Kikina will join them on the six-month science and technology research mission.

“Together as a crew, we we’ve been training for almost a year, but our preparation has begun long before that. Koichi will be his fifth flight to space and he’s been training for three decades. And for Josh and Anna and I, this will be our first flight.”

ANNOTATION: NASA and SpaceX will launch the crew on Wednesday aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft named Endurance.

STORYLINE:

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-5 crewmembers arrived Saturday at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
