The unidentified victims are a certain 44-year-old female, a 37-year-old male, and a nine-year-old male.

“The PCG duty sea marshals coordinated with the vessel captain and conducted the verification and profiling of reported passengers,” the PCG said in a statement.

“According to the alleged [trafficking in person] victims, unknown individuals instructed them to travel to Sabah, Malaysia, via a ‘backdoor’ channel, and an unidentified person will fetch them upon arrival,” it added.

The PCG duty sea marshals and Municipal Interagency Committee Against Trafficking personnel turned them over to the Philippine National Police Station in Tawi-Tawi “for proper investigation, stress debriefing, and further disposition.”
